Who am I -

Birth and Colorado Residency:

I was born in Johnstown Pennsylvania in 1975. My father was an Army Infantry man and was stationed at Fort Carson in 1977. I went to school in Colorado Springs and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1993. I joined the USMC and moved away in 1995 and returned in 2004. During that time I lived in various parts of the world and went to college at Northern Virginia Community College.

Military Service:

I joined the United States Marine Corps in 1995 and received an honorable discharge in 1999. This was during Desert Storm/Desert Shield. I was awarded a National Defense Ribbon, an Overseas Service Medal, a Medal for Good Conduct, and multiple Meritorious Mast awards. I achieved the rank of Corporal and was recalled to reserve duty during the tragedy of 911. In 2002 I was finally released from all military duty.

Private Sector Telecommunications:

I worked for approximately 5 years in Washington DC for RCN Communications where I managed their fiber optic plant. I was also a technical trainer, and taught classes up and down the east coast during that time. For approximately 20 years I have worked in and out of telecommunications from CenturyLink to the Missile Defense Agency. I currently carry a Top Secret SCI clearance.

Family:

I married in 1996, had 3 children, and was divorced in 2013. My children are now ages 26, 24, and 21. My son went to college on a full scholarship for wrestling and is now a firefighter in Gunnison, CO. My middle daughter is a stay at home mother who has given me my grandson Oakley. My youngest daughter went to college on a full scholarship and is an ASL interpreter and freelance writer. I have been in a loving relationship with my childhood friend Heather Klein, after we reconnected in 2013.

Athletics:

I have been practicing the martial art of Judo since I was 12. At age 28, I started competing nationally and eventually was invited to train at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. I trained there for several years before starting my own Judo Center for aspiring Olympic Athletes. During this time, I was a 9 time State Champion, 7 time National Champion, and 2 time World Champion. I maintained a #7 ranking on the Elite National Roster, and then went on to compete in similar sports to include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Russian Sambo. I eventually launched a short lived career in Cage Fighting, and retired after several major injuries.  In the last 4 years, I have enjoyed performing as an Independent Professional Wrestler. I still teach free self defense classes to members of the LGBTQIA+ community when requested.

Entertainment:

Around 2013, I decided to change my life, and launched a career as an entertainer. I took on my stage name, Romeo Uncaged and started dancing as a stripper. I was introduced to the art of Burlesque which I fell in love with. Over the years I have traveled and performed across the country. I have won multiple awards and was most recently named as the #2 Best Artist in Colorado Springs, by the Independent Magazine. I teamed up with local business owner and long time Burlesque performer Bunny Bee to launch the Champagne Cabaret in 2018. This eventually led Bunny Bee and her husband Brad to open Colorado Springs' First & Only Full Time Cabaret, La Burla Bee, where I took the reins as General Manager. La Burla Bee is entering their 4th year in business and has won more awards than any other business in the city.

Sexuality:

It's unfortunate that this seems to be a necessary topic, but in today's political climate, it matters. I came out in 2013 as bisexual and have been a very active member of our local LGBTQIA+ community ever since. My partner Heather and I have been running a booth for a company called Get Your Gay On at the Denver Pride Festival for as many years.

Legal Sex Work:

For the past 10 years, I have been a content creator for several adult oriented websites. In 2024, I teamed up with Madam Bella Cummings, the only woman to own a legal brothel in the state of Nevada. She has been advocating for the decriminalization of prostitution across the US for over 38 years. In order to bring attention to this, we petitioned the Elko County regulatory commission to adjust the wording in their legislation to accommodate a legal male courtesan. We were successful and I am now the only legal male prostitute in the entire United States. I have been traveling back and forth between Nevada and Colorado since then working in Bella's Hacienda Ranch & Legal Brothel. I am currently being featured in a national news article at Narratively.com which will be released in March of 2025. I am also the topic of a Netflix documentary, pending approval to be released some time in the summer of 2025.

Why am I running for City Council -

​

I have lived and worked in this city for most of my life. I love this community. I have seen it change drastically since I was a child in the 70's. Some of the change has been for the better, but some of it not so much. I am a business owner, manager, patron to many local businesses that I see struggling with an out of control economy. It is my opinion that the city of Colorado Springs is currently under control of politicians who do not care what the common citizen wants. Our current City Council is polluted with scandal, hypocrisy, and greed. We need a change. We need new council members whom aren't politicians or connected to big business.

Here are some issues that I think need resolved:

We need a City Council who cannot be bought by real estate developers or personal business interests. "Dark Money" is just being blatantly thrown around right now. There are already several District 3 candidates who have been "Bough and Paid For" by real estate developers who are banking on these candidates in order to push land annexation for them to build cheap housing on.

Recreational marijuana inside city limits - Proposition 300 has already been voted on and approved by the people of Colorado Springs. Our current city council refuses to allow it. Ignoring the voters is unconstitutional at best, and downright criminal at worst.

Downtown Parking - Parking downtown is currently very difficult and expensive. This needs addressed immediately.

Downtown Business Taxes - At this time the city of Colorado Springs has a higher tax rate than the state does. This is making it difficult for small businesses to stay afloat.

PIF - If you look at your receipt at many of the downtown restaurants and businesses, you may see a PIF put on your bill of up to 2.5%. This stands for Public Improvement Fee though it is being dictated by the property owners and needs to be regulated.

​

Land Annexation for city growth - I am against this at this time. I believe that we can better use our tax dollars to cleanup our existing neighborhoods in an effort to put people into the current empty rentals and homes for sale.

​

ADU Allowance - I am for allowing this in order to provide more housing options.

​

De-funding/Eliminating Public Libraries - I am against this. I understand our modern digital age, though I believe that there is still much value to our community by having physical books available.
